    Bracebridge Courthouse

    Bracebridge Courthouse was constructed in 1890 and addition added in 1966. In 1895 the Land Registry building was built and attached to the newer portion of the courthouse. An audit was completed to identify accessibility issues and upgrades required to comply with the Barrier-Free Design of Ontario Government Facilities, Courthouse Wayfinding Signage Standards, and Ontario Building Code.

    OPP Modernization, Eight Detachments

    As part of a modernization of eight OPP detachments, Vortex completed both building code and accessibility reviews of the proposed projects. The barrier-free accessibility was reviewed with respect to the Ontario Building Code, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act O. Reg. 413/12 Integrated Accessibility Regulation Design of Public Spaces Standard (AODA-DOPS), and Infrastructure Ontario – 2016 Guidelines for Barrier Free Design of Ontario Government Facilities (IO-BFDOGF).

    Federal Economic Development Centre

    Vortex conducted an accessibility review of the building exterior and floor areas within the building in terms of compliance with the Ontario Building Code and CAN/CSA B651, Accessible Design for the Built Environment. The review included both site and drawing reviews to determine code compliance with respect to barrier-free access to exterior parking areas, exterior walks, pedestrian entrances, interior paths of travel, doors, washroom facilities and other amenities.
