Accessibility Design Reviews
To achieve accessible, inclusive and barrier-free buildings, accessibility must be reviewed during the design stage before issues become difficult or costly to correct.
Vortex Access provides accessibility design review services for new buildings, refurbishments, fit-outs and public environments. Our review helps design teams understand whether the proposed design supports safe, independent and dignified access for People of Determination (persons with disabilities), elderly users, families and other diverse users.
The review is carried out against applicable accessibility codes, authority requirements, universal design principles and project-specific standards. It typically covers accessible parking, drop-off, entrances, internal circulation, ramps, stairs, lifts, toilets, service counters, seating, signage, wayfinding and emergency access interfaces.
The outcome of the review is a clear set of accessibility comments, compliance observations and practical recommendations that help the client and design team improve the project before construction or authority submission.
