ABOUT Jacob McGivern
As an Engineer-in-Training registered with APEGA, Jacob works on building and fire code compliance from preliminary design through to construction completion. He collaborates with design teams and building officials on code interpretations, hazardous process assessments, Alternative Solutions, and firestop system design, providing technical grounding that supports Vortex Access's accessibility reviews alongside Vortex Fire's Canadian life safety practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.A.Sc. Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering - University of Waterloo, with distinction.
- Engineer in Training – Association of Professional Engineers, and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
- International Firestop Council 3rd party firestop inspector.
- MMAH Provincial Qualifications: General Legal 2012, House 2012, Small Building 2012, Large Building 2012, On-site Sewage Systems 2012, HVAC – House 2012, and Plumbing House 2012.
